Garden wall around the west side of the horse shoe garden at Windsong Created by the Me to We open trip folks. Check out the pics on my flickr site by clicking on photo
The wall was started with a shallow rubble and wire footer made from rocks that we’re dug up during projects or sifted from adobe materials.
We then stacked straw bales, one laid flat, one on edge in the back and anchored them with rebar.
Then we Covered the whole structure first with an adobe dirt and water mix then with Cob mix which included about 50% by volume of chopped straw. All mixed on a tarp By rolling it and stomping on it with feet, So much fun.
The plan is to put a couple more layers of adobe mix on the structure then plant it with seeds to create a living wall around the garden.
